ProductHow a product grew out of the expert network
Synthetic personas grounded in psychology — spun off from the network.
Operated by Radical Personas GmbH in Linz. Radical Innovators holds a majority stake; co-founded by network expert Thomas Kasper.
The relationship, stated on radicalpersonas.com ↗Starting point
Classical market research is thorough but slow and expensive. Synthetic personas promise relief — yet a large share of vendors simply have a language model play a role. What comes out sounds plausible and is methodologically worthless.
Approach
Instead of free-form role-play, a grounding in established psychological models: Big Five, Prospect Theory, and Hofstede's cultural dimensions. Plus a stance built into the product itself — synthetic personas complement real research, they do not replace it. Data held exclusively within the EU.
How it came about
Radical Personas did not emerge from a client brief but from a question that kept coming up inside the network: how do you test a message, a concept, or a design before budget flows into execution — without waiting weeks for panel results?
The answer was developed jointly. Thomas Kasper, responsible for business model topics within the network, contributed the methodological side; the technical implementation came out of the network. The joint project became a separate company in which Radical Innovators holds a majority stake.
The path there is the actual point: a curated expert network works when specialists do more than work side by side on client projects — when they can carry something of their own together. Radical Personas is the proof. It also sharpens what we can tell clients about using AI in decision-making. Anyone who operates an AI product knows its limits more precisely than someone who merely advises on it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Why would a consulting network spin off its own product?
Because you can only truly judge a technology once you operate it yourself. Anyone maintaining an AI product in the market knows its limits, costs, and pitfalls first-hand — and can advise clients more honestly as a result. The spin-off is not a pivot into the product business but a deepening of advisory competence.
What sets the approach apart from generic AI personas?
The difference lies in the grounding. Asking a language model to "be a 45-year-old head of procurement" produces a role, not a defensible perspective. Radical Personas instead builds on established models from personality and decision research, and discloses what the personas rest on. That does not make results infallible, but it makes them verifiable.
Do synthetic personas replace real market research?
No — and that is explicitly part of the product stance. Synthetic personas belong early in the process: screening, pre-tests, hypothesis building. Where budget and risk run high, research with real people remains the benchmark. Anyone selling it differently is selling risk.
