Commercial agents in Austria have a statutory compensation claim upon termination of their contractual relationship under §24 of the Commercial Agents Act (HVertrG). Calculating this claim is complex: it considers commission history, customer base, attrition rates, and multiple statutory caps. Until now, this calculation was only possible with legal counsel or complex Excel spreadsheets.

For the law firm Huber und Partner Rechtsanwälte GmbH, we developed the only online calculator of its kind in Austria. The tool guides commercial agents step by step through the calculation and delivers a well-founded initial estimate of their compensation claim. The underlying logic was developed in close collaboration with Mag. Elisabeth Nagel — a WKO-designated trusted attorney for commercial agents.
