During my last visit to #Bratislava, I discovered something new for me – a coffee-making robot. ๐ค He took orders and payments via a touchscreen, brewed coffee and served it with a robotic arm. And all almost faster than you can say “latte macchiato” โฑ๏ธ๐
Although it does not look human in the slightest, it can create something like an impression of “personality” with its gestures and signals. This phenomenon, in which we tend to transfer human characteristics to non-human objects, is known as “anthropomorphic bias”. ๐ฎ
Shortly before, I had a rather less uplifting experience with a human waiter, but one thing is clear to me: technical innovations such as #AI and #robotics can never completely replace human roles, especially where emotional intelligence is required. ๐ก๐ง But they point out that we need to constantly work on improving our #customer service.
In the IT industry, we need to find ways to use these technical innovations to enhance human skills rather than replace them. What do you think? How could you use technology to strengthen the human element in your work? ๐ฌ๐
